The Art of Care behind every fruit - Dates
Medjool Dates: Medjool dates are among the most renowned varieties. Recognized for their generous flesh, soft texture, and exceptionally sweet taste, they are highly prized by dried fruit lovers. At Sonedis, we exclusively distribute Medjool dates of Moroccan origin.
Deglet-Nour Dates: Originating from Tunisia and Algeria, Deglet-Nour dates have a crunchy consistency and a delicious honey-like taste. In Arabic, their name means “finger of light,” a title owed to their elongated shape and slightly translucent color.
MeCh-Degla: This is a variety of dry dates originating from the M’Chounech region (Chaoui region) near Biskra, Algeria. This type of date is distinguished by its floury consistency and naturally dry appearance, which hardens on the tree as it ripens.
It is renowned for its unique and intense flavor, making it a highly valued product for its culinary quality. These dates are grown in a hot, dry climate, ideal for developing this particular texture. They are part of a rich date-growing tradition in Algeria, where several varieties are cultivated and recognized for their distinctive taste and nutritional properties.
Wellness & Flavor
Natural Riches
Dates are highly energetic fruits, long consumed for their many health benefits.
Rich in fiber, potassium, phosphorus, iron, and vitamin B9, dates are a natural source of sugar. Thanks to their high calorie content, they are an excellent source of energy. These virtues make this fruit highly fortifying: dates are perfect for athletes and serve as an ideal snack for moments when you need to recharge your energy.
How to properly store your dates
Dates picked at full maturity can only be stored for a few days because they are very delicate.
Dried Fruits
Crunchy or soft, dried fruits make excellent snacks to nibble on for a treat.
High in calories, dried fruits and nuts are nonetheless healthy! Thanks to their nutritional properties, they provide numerous health benefits. They are true allies for maintaining energy throughout the day.
Nuts (dried fruits in shells) are naturally dry. They are generally oilseeds protected by a hard shell.
Conversely, dried fruits have undergone dehydration. Fresh, fleshy fruits are dried at a low temperature. This results in a food that is low in water, but highly concentrated in nutrients and full of flavor.
